Early Life

Olamide was born into the Adedeji family. His mother is the second wife of the family, and he hails from a polygamous family. He is his second child of his mother, Mrs. Ronke Osisanya Adedeji. He has two siblings, an older brother named Eniola Olamilekan (known professionally as DJ Enimoney) and a younger sister named TemmyGold

Education

Olamide attended prestigious public schools in Bariga for his elementary and high school studies.

He gained entry into the Ogun State-owned Tai Solarin University of Education following his secondary school completion. But he was forced to leave the school because of financial difficulties.

After realizing his musical potential, Olamide turned to music as a career in 2000. He became well-known after 10 years, after the release of Eni Duro, he rose to stardom. He released his first single ‘Eni Duro‘ under the Coded Tunes name and was overseen by Toni Payne. Olamide later performed at the hip-bounce world honors function that equivalent year.

Career

When Olamide was still signed to ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes Records, his career really took off. 2011 saw the release of his highly successful debut album, Raspodi, on Coded Tunes. Omo To Shan, the album’s lead track, contributed to Olamide’s ascent to prominence as the new Yoruba (Indigenous Rap) king. Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL), Olamide’s sophomore album, was recorded and released in 2013. He collaborated with producers ID Cabasa, Samklef, Pheelz, and 2kriss. Some of the most well-liked names in the business, including Dammy Krane, Kayswitch, Davido, , and Reminisce, collaborated on the project.

Olamide’s fifth studio album, Evan Mayweather, was released on November 23, 2015. It has 21 tracks. On the project, there was no featured artist.

He had released a joint project called 2 Kings earlier that year, in April, with Ibo artist known as phyno. The album is joint project by Penthhauze Music and YBNL Records.

Collaborating with Pheelz, Phyno, , Davolee, and Wande Coal, Olamide released his sixth studio album titled Glory.

The 16-track project was produced by Pheelz, and on December 23, 2016, the album was released.

Two albums, Carpie Diem and UY Scuti, and a nine-track EP called 999 were released by Olamide in 2020 and 2021.

999 was a surprise project that was released on February 10, 2020, without any public announcement. Also, Carpie Diem, which consists of 12 tracks, was released on October 8, 2020.

UY Scuti, which was inspired by Olamide‘s son, was released on June 18, 2021.

Olamide Adedeji founded the Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Nation Label, a free record label, in 2012. The term refers to a fellow who brings in money without engaging in any illegal activity.

The label consist  of a number of musicians, such as Fireboy DML, Picazo, Temmie Ovwasa, Adekunle Gold, Chinko Ekun, DJ Enimoney and Fireboy DML.
