Richard Imaekhai, known as Moonlight Afriqa, is an Afro dimension artist from Edo State, Nigeria. Born in March 1994 in Agenebode, he grew up in a diverse household blending Muslim and Christian influences. Music became his passion early on, introduced to the rhythms of drums by his uncle at four.
As Moonlight’s love for music grew, he taught himself guitar while studying mechanical engineering at Abia State Polytechnic. Despite academic demands, he devoted himself to composing and performing, gaining recognition among peers.
In 2017, Moonlight relocated to Lagos to pursue music fully. His talent shone during the 2018 World Cup with “Eagles Wings,” a campaign anthem for the Nigerian Super Eagles, earning acclaim from industry insiders and social media influencers.
